Cacao Nibs are the real stuff when it comes to chocolate! They are taken from raw cacao beans and have a crunchy texture with a slightly nutty chocolaty flavour.
Nibs are fermented cacao beans crushed into small bits. They are basically raw chocolate — before being ground & mixed with sugar, adding crunchiness & a mild chocolate flavour with a hint of bitterness to baked goods & savoury dishes. Cacao nibs contains anandamide, which is known as the ‘bliss chemical’, because it is released when we are feeling great & is normally created by our bodies when we exercise. Cacao is the only food found to contain anandamide. Rich in fibre & antioxidants, nibs make a great substitute for roasted nuts or chocolate chips, without the added sweetness.
